Origin Story
"You didn't begin at the beginning you remember."
Beginnings, catalyst, formative experience, family system, roots, the first domino ---
"What is the earliest story you tell yourself about what's possible for you — and where did that story come from?"
Core Meaning
Origin Story is the card of originating conditions — the family system, the early environment, the formative experiences that created the frameworks through which you still, largely unconsciously, interpret everything that happens to you. These origins aren't destiny; that's the whole point of the card. But they are the default program, and the default program runs until it's consciously examined and, where necessary, rewritten.
This card asks you to look at your origin not as explanation (which can become excuse) but as information. Where did the beliefs you're living by come from? Which of your patterns are intelligent adaptations to a specific environment you no longer inhabit? Which of your strengths emerged from exactly the crucible your origin story provided? And which of your limitations are the logical products of what you were given — and can be updated?
